My Story

Success never comes around to look for you while you wait. You’ve got to get up and work at it to make your dreams come true.

~Poh Yung King

That is one of the few quotes I live by… Speaking of which… who am I?

Well, my name is Angela but you can call me Angie. I’m a mama of a 8 year old boy, a Pinterest VA, a blogger, a writer and a business owner.

I wear a ton of hats but that’s not how it always was.

It all started back in 2018.

I was a digital marketing manager and social media manager to an online magazine and a financial company, 5 years and 2 years respectively, before I quit and started my very first blog.

I wanted to spend time with my son because I would only see him over the weekend because of all my late nights.

And to tell you the truth, I also wanted the freedom of clocking in and out whenever I wanted to. I was also never understood the power hierarchy in corporate where I had to fear my boss because of the paycheck. And that made me want to only answer to myself.

I loved the idea of working for myself and so I took that leap and started my very first blog.

I had read a lot of blog posts from Pinterest of how different bloggers were doing what they loved and making money off of it and I was over the moon because I really wanted to do that for myself.

I didn’t know exactly what I was doing and just like any other beginner, I got stuck.

I had not ever worked with Pinterest before as all my former employers were well established companies that just wanted to be mostly on Facebook and Twitter (that’s where a lot of people here like to hang out)

So just like any other person, I bought a Pinterest course and boy was I disappointed. (I choose not to disclose the course because well, if I have nothing good to say then I’d rather not say anything. That’s just how I am naturally.)

Long story short, the course didn’t work out for me. I did everything in the course as explained and nothing happened with my blog traffic.

There were days I got zero traffic and I was putting in so much effort. I got super super frustrated because this was 2 months down the line and I still wasn’t getting what I wanted from Pinterest ie – the traffic.

I needed a way to drive traffic to my blog and I needed it fast.

Plus, I didn’t have the money to get a Pinterest coach so I decided that I was going to figure out this Pinterest thing. To hell with what everybody else was saying about it being hard to do it on your own.

That was back in 2018 April.

I really struggled and honestly, I wanted to quit. It was hard having no income, raising a toddler by myself (yes, I’m a single mom) and working on a business idea that was giving no returns.

I remember days when I would go to bed and just sob and pray to God. It was hard.

Then, June came along and I really started to see great results.

I had figured out what made Pinterest tick. It was crazy because I never imagined in a million years that I would get 300+ clicks from one pin. 200 from another and so forth.

I was excited. And when I published a pin that led to my very first YouTube video, I got 300 views and 30 subscribers. It was as though I had cracked the Pinterest can open.

And then I started going into FB groups (as most bloggers were doing at the time) and I noticed a huge number of bloggers were struggling just as I had been struggling.

I asked around on Instagram and the response was practically the same.

A journey that I thought I would have to quit was soon to change.

I decided to start helping people actually get real results with Pinterest and I became a virtual Assistant.

Well, at the time, I didn’t even know that I was a Pinterest Virtual Assistant. I just knew I was helping bloggers and entrepreneurs use Pinterest to drive massive traffic.

That was my super power.

I got my very first client trough Instagram when I had 50 followers and I’ve never looked back ever since.

I’ve helped a ton of bloggers, Etsy shop owners, Shopify store owners, bloggers, entrepreneurs, fellow virtual assistants and my goal is to help over 1,000 people to reach their goals, touching their lives and making a small change in this world.

My mom used to say, “It only takes one deed to change a person’s entire life.”

And that’s my mantra to date.

Well, about the blog I started, I sold it for $1000+.

It reminded me so much of someone that I lost. I couldn’t continue with it. Every time I would say or type it out, I felt sad and that made me feel really demotivated. So I sold it….

That was a while back as I’m sure you’re probably reading this in 2023. So I started this new blog for multiple reasons.

First, to show you that you can do it in 2023 – that it’s not too late to start a blog this year and still become successful.

Secondly, to show you that growing a Pinterest account from scratch in 2023 is possible despite the crazy changes that have happened on the platform – I’m currently documenting my journey. And I will be sharing it in my Pinterest course.

And finally… I started this blog because why not?

Now, most of you will realize that this multi- niche blog. I did that intentionally because I’m a diverse human being and I would love my audience to get to know every aspect of my life. And I’m also tired of gurus telling people to niche down when it’s really not sustainable.

You don’t have to NICHE DOWN if you don’t want to. You make your own path…. because WHY NOT?

Why I’ve shared my story

I’ve shared my story here to show you that anything is possible if you put your mind to is so Don’t stop no matter how many times you feel like quitting.
